Where I first ran into SlyGen
Someone dropped the link in a group chat with the caption “AI for adults, worth a look.” Standard way these things surface these days. The homepage at slygen.ai opens with “Turn Your Fantasy into Reality,” a promise of free coins for signing up, and a row of bold claims like “unrestricted access.” It reads like a fairly typical AI image generator built for adult content, and that first impression turns out to be accurate.
That impression also decided where this review was going. SlyGen makes pictures and short clips, it does not hold a conversation. Every comparison below follows from that one fact, not from a decision to be harsh on the product before trying it.
How it works: signup, coins, generation
Signup takes an email and a confirmation click, and 30 bonus coins land in your account immediately. No card required at this stage. From there you land in a standard builder: pick a style, write a prompt, hit generate. Beyond plain text-to-image, SlyGen also offers image-to-image, video generation, upscaling, and a dedicated face-swap tool that the homepage advertises openly.
I ran a handful of prompts out of curiosity. Results come back fast and the interface stays out of the way. But at some point the obvious question shows up: now what? The image generates, you look at it, and that’s the whole interaction. No character card, no history, nobody to send the next message to. The loop never changes: prompt in, result out.
The system itself is simple: one coin wallet funds every generation, and the coin cost depends on the style and settings you pick. One detail chips away at the experience right after generation, files stay available for 30 days from creation, a reminder email arrives about a week before deletion, and there’s currently no way to extend that window or recover something once it’s gone. Generate something and forget to download it, and it’s gone for good, that’s the stated behavior, not a bug.
Free coins run out fast, which raises the real question: what happens once they do.
Pricing, coins, and what happens to your money
This is where it gets frustrating. Open SlyGen’s pricing page expecting a coin-pack table and you get a placeholder that just says “Pricing, coming soon.” At the time of checking, there was no working price list anywhere, so calculating the cost of a coin pack ahead of time simply wasn’t possible.

Still, the base price of a coin pack stayed impossible to pin down in advance, and that’s usually the number that decides whether someone signs up at all.

Why SlyGen isn’t an AI companion
That last con is really the whole story, so it’s worth sitting with.
